Our History

EquityKey is a new kind of real estate investment company that helps people 65 to 85 unlock the wealth in residential real estate. EquityKey was founded in 2005 by a group of certified financial planners whose inspiration came from their clients, many of whom had significant assets tied up in rapidly appreciating real estate, and wanted a way to access those assets today.

For some property owners, the additional cash would enable them to maintain a comfortable retirement with limited income. Others could benefit from an estate planning solution to enhance cash flow, increase liquidity and avoid debt.

With these goals in mind, the team of financial planners set about creating a solution that could provide for the needs of both of these types of clients, and address the drawbacks associated with loans and mortgages.

After two years of real estate research, extensive consumer testing and legal opinions, EquityKey was ready for the marketplace.

The result was the EquityKey real estate option -- a new way to access home values without loans, monthly payments, or interest charges. Instead of taking existing equity out of property, EquityKey focuses on the potential future value. With this patent-pending approach, everybody wins -- homeowners receive the certainty of a lump-sum payment today, and EquityKey shares in the possibility of growth tomorrow.
